환자의 건강상태를 확인하기 위한 의료검사 중의 하나가 바로 환자의 신체 온도를 측정하는 것입니다. 체온의 미묘한 변화는 혈관의 협착이나 확장과 같은 건강상 이상 징후가 되기도 하며, 또한 탈수증에도 나타납니다. 심지어 멘탈의 문제가 발생할 때에도 신체의 온도가 변화를 보입니다. 이러한 여러 가지 이유로 인해서 질병의 초기 진단 및 치료를 포함하는 과정에서 피부의 온도 변화를 측정하는 것은 매우 중요합니다.

스위스 업체인 GreenTEG 에서는 인체의 심부온도를 실시간 모니터링할 수 있는 새로운 기술을 개발했습니다. 2개의 Heat Flux Sensor를 사용하여 몸안에 침투하지 않고 정확한 심부온도 측정이 가능합니다. 스위스 베른 (Bern) 대학 병원의 수면실에서 실시한 한 연구에서, gSKIN® CBT 센서는 ±0.2°C 오차의 우수한 정확도를 입증하였습니다.
